AgiBot eyes new horizons in Chinese auto manufacturing with advanced robotics

August 13, 2025

Shanghai’s AgiBot—also known as Zhiyuan Robotics—has just sealed a landmark deal with Fulin Precision to deploy nearly 100 A2-W general-purpose robots across automotive parts factories. Following a successful demonstration in July, these robots will soon handle a full month’s production in just one shift, delivering a fresh surge in automation.

At 175 centimetres and weighing 55 kilograms, the A2-W is designed to blend seamlessly into the factory environment. Its dual-arm setup comes with high-precision force control and depth sensors, making it adept at tackling complex, repetitive tasks safely and efficiently. This means human workers can shift focus to more intricate, value-added roles while reducing the risk of injuries like lumbar strain.

Aligned with the broader trend of rising robot adoption in China, this deployment is more than a tech update—it’s a practical response to everyday challenges on the shop floor. As highlighted by the South China Morning Post, integrated automation like this isn’t about cutting jobs; it’s about making production lines smarter and safer.

AgiBot’s approach also reflects the current market buzz. Reports from the International Federation of Robotics note a 5% rise in Chinese industrial installations in 2024, and with the robotics market projected to hit USD 16.5 billion by 2033, companies like AgiBot are clearly in a strong position. If you’ve ever wrestled with inefficient workflows, solutions like this could really make a difference.
