AI Startup Vidu Joins Forces with Hollywood to Craft a Unique Anime Series

March 18, 2025

Imagine a world where cutting-edge technology meets the magic of storytelling. That’s exactly what’s happening with a fascinating collaboration between a Chinese AI startup and a US animation studio. ShengShu Technology, working closely with Tsinghua University, has crafted an impressive AI model named Vidu. Now, they’re stepping into the Hollywood spotlight.

Teaming up with Aura Productions, co-founded by the talented Chinese-American actress Luo Yan and creative director D.T. Carpenter, they’re setting the stage for something truly exciting in AI-generated content. They’re planning to roll out a 50-episode short science-fiction anime series on major social media platforms worldwide by 2025. It’s a thrilling prospect for anime fans everywhere.

This partnership is making waves as Chinese video-generation technology captures global attention. Earlier this year, Vidu 2.0 made headlines with its ability to churn out high-quality videos in just 10 seconds. The upcoming series aims to blend the captivating aesthetics of Asian anime with the storytelling brilliance of Hollywood, hoping to capture the imaginations of young audiences across North America.

In a recent endeavor, Vidu was behind the creation of a Chinese trailer for the 2024 film “Venom: The Last Dance.” They’re not stopping there. In a strategic move to broaden their reach, Vidu was incorporated into Baidu’s Qianfan platform last September.

Further expanding their horizons, Vidu has partnered with the Chinese division of AMD, a leading US AI chipmaker. This collaboration aims to speed up the development of AI-driven applications for personal computers. It’s a clear sign of Hollywood’s growing fascination with AI technology and its potential to transform the entertainment landscape.

With these developments, it’s an exciting time for both technology enthusiasts and anime lovers alike. The fusion of AI and storytelling is paving the way for new possibilities in entertainment.
