The Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI) has rolled out a fresh series of open‑source AI models designed to give next‑generation robots a serious upgrade. Announced at their annual gathering in Beijing, these models are set to boost the abilities of humanoid robots, making them not just more capable but also more adaptable.
Wang Zhongyuan, head of BAAI, explained how RoboBrain 2.0 marks a key milestone on the journey to smarter robotics. “We’re eager to team up with the Zhiyuan Institute and other industry partners,” he said, pointing out that collaboration is the way forward. This approach aims to tackle previous hurdles like limited model capabilities and a shortage of training data.
As China continues to make swift progress in AI, BAAI is already working with over 20 leading companies and remains open to welcoming further partnerships. This initiative not only highlights China’s commitment to advancing AI but also paves the way for more practical, accessible solutions in humanoid robotics across various industries.
