Embracing the Future: National AI Literacy Day Promotes Understanding of Artificial Intelligence

April 4, 2025

Have you ever wondered how artificial intelligence is reshaping our world? National AI Literacy Day offers a fantastic chance to dive into how AI is transforming our everyday lives and to chat about using it responsibly. A recent survey from the Pew Research Center found that 52% of Americans are worried about AI’s impact on jobs, with 32% expecting fewer job opportunities. It’s a concern that’s hard to ignore.

Erin Mote, CEO of InnovateEDU, the driving force behind AI Literacy Day, believes preparation is key. She puts it simply: “AI will definitely replace some tasks at work, much like the internet did, but it’s also going to create new jobs.” It’s a shift, not an end, and understanding this can help us all adapt.

To help you get up to speed, there are events happening nationwide. Take, for example, the virtual AI Literacy Summit organized by the Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Education Initiative. These events are designed to empower both young people and current professionals with the insights needed to thrive in a changing job market.
