Revolutionizing Dairy Cow Health with Pharm Robotics’ Automated System

July 22, 2025

Have you ever found it challenging to keep every cow in prime health? Pharm Robotics is stepping in to offer a solution that makes managing dairy herds easier. Their new automated system, called Sureshot, administers vaccines and other treatments as cows move into the milking parlor.

Sureshot uses industrial robotic arms to give each cow the right shot at the right time. When a cow walks in, an RFID scanner checks its history so the system knows exactly what treatment is needed. The precise shot is then administered and recorded in the dairy’s management software. If something goes wrong, a quick text alert reaches the dairy manager, so any issues can be promptly handled.

Recent updates to the system have added a 3D vision feature that helps identify the correct injection site, making the process both safer and more efficient. The integration of the FANUC CRX-20 collaborative robot brings advanced safety measures into play, like sensor-based shot confirmation using dual force detection. A new software stack powered by machine learning further speeds up the process, ensuring each cow gets the treatment it needs without delay.

Pharm Robotics has already simulated fully automated shots on a model cow with these upgrades, marking a significant step towards complete automation by 2025. Alongside these technical improvements, the company has moved its headquarters from San Jacinto, California, to Las Vegas and expanded its presence in West Texas.
