UK Humanoid Unveils Adaptable HMND 01 for Modern Industries

June 4, 2025

Humanoid—a pioneering UK AI and robotics company—is setting the stage for a future where robots are integrated into daily operations. Their latest teaser video introduces the HMND 01 alpha prototype, a versatile robot designed to navigate both logistical hubs and retail floors with ease. By offering both wheeled and bipedal designs, it adapts naturally to its environment.

Founder Artem Sokolov puts practicality first. Instead of chasing lab-only experiments, his focus is on market-ready solutions that work from day one. Launched in 2024, Humanoid is committed to building the world’s most scalable and safe humanoid robots. The HMND 01, revealed earlier this year, stands 175 cm tall, weighs 70 kg, and moves at 1.5 m/s while handling loads of up to 33 pounds. Its four-hour battery life ensures it can handle a range of tasks—whether in busy warehouses or more domestic settings.

Designed with adaptability in mind, the HMND 01 lets you swap components quickly, making it a smart choice for diverse environments like warehouses, retail outlets, and even homes. As noted by Drives & Control, its modular nature means it’s ready to shift gears as business needs change.

Humanoid envisions a day when interacting with robots is as intuitive as using your smartphone. This is a welcome prospect for anyone who’s ever faced labour shortages or the monotony of repetitive tasks. Their approach aims to keep ownership costs low while boosting productivity in sectors that employ millions and manage multi-trillion-dollar payrolls.

Despite a global industry valued at around $90 trillion, only about 20% of material movement is automated today. With predictions from ABI Research forecasting a 95% compound annual growth rate in the humanoid robot market through 2030, Humanoid is carving out its niche alongside firms like Tesla, Figure AI, Boston Dynamics, and various Chinese competitors.
