OpenAI’s shaking things up by making its Deep Research tool more accessible. If you’re a paying ChatGPT user, you’re in luck! Previously, only those shelling out $200 a month for Pro access could take advantage of this tool. Now, it’s open to Plus, Team, Enterprise, and Edu users, giving you 10 Deep Research queries each month. Pro users, don’t worry—you’ll see an increase in your monthly queries from 100 to 120.
But that’s not all. OpenAI has given this tool a bit of a facelift. They’ve added image embedding with citations and improved file analysis capabilities. It’s all part of OpenAI’s mission to create AI that can tackle complex analytical tasks as well as, or even better than, humans can.
On another note, OpenAI is rolling out a free version of Advanced Voice Mode. This lets you chat with ChatGPT using your voice, and it’s powered by the GPT-4o Mini model. If you’re a Plus user, you’ll get even more features, like video and screensharing.
Meanwhile, Microsoft isn’t sitting still. They’re offering Copilot AI users unlimited free access to Voice and Think Deeper features on their free tier. Voice lets you use verbal commands, while Think Deeper is all about tackling complex queries using OpenAI’s o1 model.
Paul Schell, an analyst at ABI Research, notes that OpenAI’s move is part of an ongoing pattern. They’re gradually enhancing ChatGPT’s capabilities while making them more affordable, which is a big step towards democratizing AI technology.

Though, some queries might still need up to 30 minutes for a thorough result. This tool runs on OpenAI’s o3 model, which is great at interpreting and analyzing text, images, and PDFs.
