MagicLab’s Humanoid Robot Takes a Leap Forward with Outdoor Running Test

March 18, 2025

MagicLab has just given us a glimpse into the future of robotics, and it’s pretty exciting! In a new video, their humanoid robot is seen running outdoors for an impressive four minutes straight. This isn’t just any ordinary test; it follows some recent upgrades that have made the robot’s walk look more like ours. Now, it’s gearing up for a half marathon in Beijing, where it’ll be running alongside thousands of humans. How cool is that?

Founded in 2023, MagicLab, or Magic Atom Robotics Technology, is making waves in industries like search and rescue, logistics, and manufacturing. Their third-generation MagicBot is a real game-changer. It can sense its environment in detail, thanks to tools like LiDAR and a variety of cameras, allowing it to handle complicated terrains with ease.

What makes this robot stand out is its navigation system. It’s designed to adapt to tough environments and can carry up to 88 pounds. Its arms can lift up to 44 pounds, which is pretty impressive. Plus, the robot’s motion control network lets it learn and improve its walking posture, even on uneven surfaces.

In past demos, MagicBot has shown it can do more than just run. It’s folded clothes, cooked marshmallows, and even pulled off a magic trick or two. This flexibility comes from its advanced micro actuators and pressure sensors, which help it handle objects with precision.

MagicLab’s vision is to deploy these robots in commercial and industrial settings, with small-scale manufacturing starting in early 2025. They’re also working on enhancing their AI data engine to speed up model training and boost efficiency across different applications.
