Anthropic’s New Premium AI Plans: What You Need to Know

April 10, 2025

Anthropic is stepping up its game in the AI world with some exciting new subscription plans for its chatbot, Claude. If you’ve been keeping an eye on OpenAI’s moves, you’ll notice Anthropic’s strategy isn’t too different. They’re introducing high-cost options that offer more than just a bump in usage limits.

So, what’s on the table? Anthropic’s Max subscription comes in two flavors: a $100-per-month plan that gives you five times the usage of the current $20 Claude Pro, and a $200-per-month option that ramps it up to twenty times. This mirrors OpenAI’s success with their $200 ChatGPT Pro tier, which notably increased their revenue by $300 million soon after it hit the market.

Scott White, the product lead at Anthropic, shared some insights in a recent interview. While they aren’t planning an unlimited usage tier like OpenAI just yet, they’re open to future possibilities based on what users want. As White put it, “We’ll always keep a number of exploratory options available to us.” It’s clear Anthropic values user feedback and plans to incorporate it into their product development.

Beyond individual users, Anthropic is also targeting educational institutions with Claude for Education. This offering is tailored for universities, providing them with specialized capabilities that could be quite beneficial.

Another interesting development is the Claude 3.7 Sonnet model, touted as Anthropic’s first reasoning model. While they haven’t released specific subscription sales numbers, there’s a buzz around its enhanced computation power, which promises more reliable responses to complex questions.
