Recent data shows that ChatGPT has become a go-to tool for work, research, and study, with weekday usage averaging about 50% higher than on weekends. In April 2025, the platform recorded 4.786 billion visits – outpacing competitors like X, which logged 4.028 billion – and it’s on track to join the ranks of the world’s top five most-visited sites.
Early in the year, X led the daily traffic charts, but by February and March, ChatGPT was rapidly catching up, nearly matching weekend numbers by April. Its large, loyal user base largely sticks with ChatGPT, often opting out of other AI tools. Even as newer contenders like Grok and Google’s Gemini vie for a slice of the market, ChatGPT continues to dominate, especially on iPhone usage in the US, leaving a notable impression among professionals and students alike.
