SS Innovations Celebrates 100+ Robotic Surgery Installations Worldwide

July 16, 2025

SS Innovations International is proud to announce that over 100 SSi Mantra surgical robotic systems have now been installed across India and six other countries. With more than 5,000 surgeries completed — including 240 cardiac procedures and 32 telesurgeries — this milestone shows just how quickly advanced, accessible robotic surgery is gaining ground.

Dr Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations, commented, “We’re thrilled to pass the 100-installation mark for our SSi Mantra surgical robotic system. Its rising acceptance underlines its premium build, smart features, intuitive operation and cost-effectiveness, all of which contribute to a better patient experience.”

Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the company is on a mission to make robotic surgery both affordable and widely accessible. Alongside the SSi Mantra system, their SSi Mudra instruments are designed for a variety of surgical applications, helping clinicians deliver precise care.

Looking ahead, Dr Srivastava added, “Our goal is to broaden access to cutting-edge robotic surgery by serving current markets and exploring new ones. We plan to submit a De Novo application to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by the end of July 2025 for multiple indications—and we’re on track for a European Union CE marking certification later in 2025.”

In a notable recent achievement, SS Innovations completed a telesurgery for weight loss using the SSi Mantra 3. This procedure connected the company’s headquarters in Gurugram with the Mohak Bariatric and Robotic Surgery Centre in Indore over 560 miles, delivering precise robotic control without any noticeable delay.

The telesurgery, featuring two One-Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) procedures, is designed to reduce stomach size and reroute the digestive tract, which in turn fosters significant weight loss and improves metabolic health. Dr Mohit Bhandari, a respected bariatric surgeon and founder of the Mohak Centre, skilfully led the surgery remotely from Gurugram.

Dr Bhandari remarked, “Using the SSi Mantra 3, we’ve shown that robotic telesurgery isn’t just a possibility—it can redefine how surgical care is delivered. Achieving what may well be the world’s first robotic telesurgery for weight loss is a proud moment that sets new benchmarks for access, equity, and excellence in healthcare.”
