In 2024, Apple demonstrated a sleeker version of Siri that promises a smoother app experience. It’s not just about answering questions – this refreshed assistant is being designed to let you control apps with your voice. Using the updated App Intents framework, developers can now build integration directly into their apps via search and Shortcuts, meaning you might soon ask Siri to find a photo, tweak it, send it off, or even post it on social media.
If you’ve ever fumbled with apps trying to complete a quick task, this innovation might feel like a breath of fresh air. Trials are already underway with well-known apps like Uber, AllTrails, Threads, Temu, Amazon, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp, setting the stage for a launch anticipated around spring 2026. It’s a practical step forward that could make everyday interactions with your device a lot more seamless.
